Original Print Salix Viminalis/4 is SOLD
First post in my ‘Dutch Vintage Series’ is the top, top dealer Massmoderndesign @massmoderndesign, whose 5000m2 (!) showroom is located in Roosendaal in the south of the Netherlands. Look at the fantastic pieces they display on their website, more than words can describe! In Corona times, a web visit feels like a day out to one of the best vintage dealers in the country. I used my print Salix Viminalis/4 as a starting point for an inspiration board without limits…⠀
Vintage Inspired
The Netherlands has always had a wide range of vintage dealers, from thrift store to the most luxurious providers. The Dutch have already loved the circular economy for years. I made a series ‘Dutch Vintage Series’ of inspiration boards on some of these great dealers in no specific order, a PrintedPlant work is the guiding principle for each board.

Original Plant Print, Solidago Gigantea/3 is SOLD
The absolute top of twentieth century design in the Netherlands is the magnificent Morentz @morentz_gallery They are housed in the characteristic shoe factory ‘Van Haren’ which dates from the 1930’s and is situated in Waalwijk (close to s’-Hertogenbosch). Their showroom has 23,000 m2 of space filled with outstanding design. Indulge yourself in browsing the beautiful collection on their website and be sure to visit them after Corona lockdown. I used my print Solidago Gigantea/3 to create this inspiration board.⠀
Original Plant Print Cornus Mas/3 is SOLD
Another pearl of a Dutch vintage shop is the fabulous Flatland Design: @flatland_design. They are located in the south of the Netherlands, close to Eindhoven and are known for a special collection, which has been expertly restored and/ or reupholstered. Definitely worth going down south. *I bought two Gijs van der Sluis chairs from them a few years ago, which I am still very happy with.* I based this board on my print Cornus Mas/3 in a colour combination of light mauve and dark blue.

Another gem of vintage furniture is Vintage Asylum @vintageasylum. They specialize in lamps (they restore very professionally, even apply new paint when needed) but also offer an extensive range of beautiful furniture. Their delightful showroom is about 30 km west of Amsterdam in the charming city of Haarlem and is normally open on Saturday afternoon*. My print Solidago Gigantea/3 is on show in their showroom and it inspired me to create this board. ⠀

Next in my ‘Dutch Vintage Series’: The fantastic @vaenonline VAEN’s showroom is located in the center of the Netherlands in Woudenberg (25 km east of Utrecht) and can be visited by appointment. The three ladies at VAEN have sourced the best mid-century modern furniture for you and have an utter sense of style. *I was delighted to purchase a gorgeous CFC Silkeborg sofa from Vaen as well as Jeff Koons inspired silver high gloss floating lamps*. I made this inspiration board based on my print Solidago Gigantea/2⠀

De Vreugde Design in Wilnis. Their impressive 1500 m2 warehouse is about 25 km south of Amsterdam, I made an inspiration board with products from @devreugdedesign based on my work Fraxinus Ornus/2⠀
I am particularly impressed by a coat rack from Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen that I had never seen before. I think this company is well worth a visit, although we will have to get through the covid lock down first ….⠀
